As I lean to his shoulder I said, “Let me rest a bit.” It was a stressful day. And soon after I got home I must continue my work. I close my eyes and feel the rush around me slowly fade. Numbing all of my other senses, leaving only a faint smell of his cologne.
At that moment I feel safe and quiet. It’s like everything is going to be fine. Perhaps all I need is not a fireworks, a sparks, or a passionate burning. Perhaps all I need is a calming sea, a constant nurturing, and the feeling of slowly falling.
